Rogue A.I - A Custom Escape Room for the Trace3 Evolve Conference

Immersive Tech was approached to design, build and install a custom escape room experience for Trace3's 2018 Evolve Technology Conference at the Mirage Conference Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The game designers at Immersive Tech took cues from Trace3's technology focused vision of the future in areas like IT Operations Analytics, cloud computing, big data intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence and put together a custom narrative around a highly intelligent A.I. gone rogue.

With Trace3's very own Ryan Lynn, VP Emerging Architecture as the protagonist in the videos, attendees were treated to an experience that was exceptionally tied to the narrative and messaging of the conference.

An 18 minute experience, up to 10 players worked their way through three distinct rooms totaling 733 square feet. As players progressed through the game and solved puzzles they were treated to the lovable A.I. Tracey (pun intended) mocking the players in their quest to defeat her.

Jeff and Adrian. Great job! I heard such good feedback from people who went through the experience. They really enjoyed the game, puzzles and the spirit of competition. You guys have been great to work with from the very beginning. Thanks so much for your partnership with this and helping us realize the vision. A+++!

To allow for easy operation for Trace3 employees, an HMI panel was supplied powered by Immersive Tech's custom game control system. Fully customized to the experience, this control system works without any need for internet access and allows the operator to monitor game progress, skip puzzles, and trigger additional content as desired. Should there be changes to be made in gameplay code after the fact, Immersive Tech is able to remotely access and update the code as long as there is an ethernet connection to the HMI.

With a Reception Area, Research Facility and Server room, players flipped switches, rewired databases and hacked a custom designed and programmed Unity game as a team in their quest to defeat Tracey.

As the conference would be a mix of people meeting for the first time, we ensured in our game design process to guide players to work together, with the groups exhibiting the best teamwork finishing the fastest and with the most celebration.

Yes, that's Peyton Manning! He didn't stop by to play the escape room though unfortunately.

The experience was a great success and a perfect example of how a custom escape room can take a theme or narrative and make it an immersive adventure for your conference or event. Contact us if you'd like to discuss creating a custom experience!
